Amtrak: Cascades, Coast Starlight and Empire Builder

With scenic routes between major Canadian cities and the United States, Amtrak provides several daily arrivals and departures in and out of Canada and serves more than five hundred destinations throughout the USA. Amtrak trains making Canadian connections include: the Adirondack, New York City, NY to Montreal, QC; the Maple Leaf, New York City to Toronto, ON; the Cascades, Eugene OR to Vancouver, BC.

Alaska Trains

Alaska: Coastal Classic, Denali Star, Glacier Discovery, Aurora Winter and Hurricane Turn

The Alaska Railroad travels along approximately 500 miles of track with three daily summer trains: the Coastal Classic to Seward, the Denali Star to Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali and Fairbanks, and the Glacier Discovery to Whittier, Portage, Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop and Grandview. The Hurricane Turn flagstop train runs Thursday through Sunday out of Talkeetna during the summer, serving residential areas only accessible by rail.

During non-summer months, weekend service is available between Anchorage and Fairbanks on the Aurora Winter Train. The Hurricane Turn winter service runs once a month from Anchorage to Hurricane on the first Thursday of the month.
